Swan Contract Personnel is an Employment Agency specialising in the contract placement of Engineers, Draftspeople and Technical Support personnel. It is the policy of the Company to ensure the privacy of current and potential Candidates is maintained at all times.
Collection of Information
Personal and sensitive information will be required to be collected, used and disclosed by Swan Contract Personnel for and on behalf of third parties (Clients) who might require access to your personal and sensitive information in connection with your work placement. Information is any information or an opinion (whether true or not) about you and may range from the very sensitive (eg medical history or condition) to the everyday (eg address and phone number). It would include the opinions of others about your work performance (whether true or not), your work experience and qualifications, aptitude test results and other information obtained by us in connection with your possible work placements. Sensitive information is a special category of personal information and can, in most cases, only be disclosed with your consent.
Personal and sensitive information will be collected from you directly when you submit a detailed resume or any other information in connection with your application to us for registration.
Personal and sensitive information will also be collected when:
- We receive any reference about you
- We receive results of inquiries that we might make of your former employers, work colleagues, professional associations or registration body
- We receive the results of any competency or medical test
- We receive performance feedback (whether positive or negative)
- We receive any complaint from or about you in the workplace
- We receive any information about a workplace accident in which you are involved
- We receive any information about any insurance investigation, litigation, registration or professional disciplinary matter, criminal matter, inquest or inquiry in which you are involved
- You provide us with any additional information about you
Use of your information
Your personal and sensitive information may be used in connection with:
- Your actual or possible work placement
- Your performance appraisals’
- Our assessment of your ongoing performance and prospects
- Any test or assessment (including medical tests and assessments) that you might be required to undergo
- Our identification of your training needs
- Any workplace rehabilitation
- Our management of any complaint, investigation or inquiry in which you are involved
- Any insurance claim or proposal that requires disclosure of your personal or sensitive information
Disclosure of your personal and sensitive information
Your personal and sensitive information may be disclosed to:
- Potential clients of Swan Contract Personnel
- Referees
- Our insurers
- A professional association or registration body that has a proper interest in the disclosure of your personal and sensitive information
- A Workers Compensation body
- Our contractors and suppliers, eg our IT/Software contractors
- Any person with a lawful entitlement to obtain the information
Access to your information
Subject to some exceptions which are set out in the National Privacy Principles (Principle 6 0 Access and Correction), you have a right to see and have a copy of personal and sensitive information about you that we hold.
If you are able to establish that personal or sensitive information that we hold about you is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, we will take reasonable steps to correct it so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
If we are unable to agree that personal or sensitive information that we hold about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date, you may ask us to place with the information a statement by you that claims that particular information is not accurate, complete and up-to-date.
Our website
When you visit our website, we make a record of your visit for statistical purposes only. We do not record your IP address. The information reported on is the users server address, top level domain name (ie: .com, .gov, .au, .uk, etc), the date and time of visit, the pages accessed and documents downloaded, the referring site and type of browser. No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities, except where required by law enforcement agencies when they exercise a warrant to inspect logs.
Use of cookies
Cookies are pieces of code that a website may transfer to your computer's hard disk to record, among several things, return visits and movement throughout a site – SWAN Contract Personnel do not employ the use of cookies.

Accessing candidate information
In the event that a candidate would like to request access to their file on our recruitment database, they are welcome to contact our Privacy Officer on (08) 9322 3563. Forty eight hours notice should be provided of the intention to view the file. An appointment will be coordinated with the Privacy Officer and the relevant Recruitment Consultant who will take the candidate through their file and all details.
Updating candidate information
On viewing their file, should a candidate wish to change, delete or update any details, they are welcome to sit in on a second interview with their Recruitment Consultant and together re-assess the skills and details documented.
Privacy commitment changes
Should SWAN Contract Personnel Pty Ltd update their Privacy Policy we will update this site.
